Job Summary

3sHealth has an exciting opportunity to join our Employee Benefits Department in a leadership role as our new Manager, Claims Services.

The Manager, Claims Services is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Claims Services team, ensuring the delivery of disability claims management services to employee benefit plan members, health care employers, unions, and other strategic partners. The Employee Benefit Plan Trusts provide benefits to over 46,000 active health care employees and their families, and 20,000 retirees on behalf of 67 health care employers across Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Director of Claims Services, the Manager leads a team that provides world-class service and upholds the Employee Benefits philosophy of “We Take Care of the Caregivers.” This role champions customer service excellence, drives operational efficiency, and ensures compliance with legislation, contracts, and plan texts.

The Manager, Claims Services is accountable for leading a high-performing team and ensuring the effective delivery of benefit services. Responsibilities include:

  • Operational Management: Lead the delivery of pro-active disability case management, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance with policies, legislation, and plan documents; manage projects, implement system enhancements, and support strategic decision-making through research and communication.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensure accurate benefit payments; monitor departmental budgets; support fiduciary responsibilities through due diligence with service providers.
  • Strategic Partner Engagement: Operationalize Board of Trustees decisions; engage with strategic partners through forums and education and foster collaborative relationships; deliver education and training on benefit policies and processes.
  • People Leadership: Recruit, coach, and mentor staff; conduct performance management; foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure plan administration complies with legislation, contracts, and best practices; safeguard confidential information and uphold data security standards.

This position is classified at pay band 6 with a salary range from $88,231 to $114,702.  We also offer comprehensive benefits including:

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of benefit plan administration and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive operational efficiencies
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships based on trust, accountability and open communication
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and environments, and produce workable and practical solutions

Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in benefits administration, claims adjudication or insurance industry
  • Experience working in disability case management environment providing direct front line service is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or other related discipline (a combination of experience and education may be considered)
